Chapter 01: Act I - The Horseman of Christmas Past

A Hollow Christmas Carol: Act I—

§ instructions.
This is the designated log for all the main scenes for Act I: The Horseman of Christmas Past. All sub quests and nonrelated threads are to be made in their own posts. The scenes are listed below along with the assigned cast. Organization wise, the threads can happen in any order so you don't have to wait for one group to post before you do. Just start when you're ready! But to help, include in the subject line the scene header (ex. Scene 1, Scene 2, etc.) You can fluff it up a little to make it more specific like including the main characters or even scene title. Just be sure to have the number so we know which is which!

As a reminder, characters will have the necessary information within their journals. Those who are selected to play a scene will find their journal flashing red, so hard to miss. Aside from a few aesthetic changes (costumes, makeup, etc., think stage effects), all characters will be unchanged and won't gain any new powers or properties (ie. "Ghosts" are still tangible). The information they have is roughly the same as what is written OOCly.

Although there are certain characters set for a scene, it's not impossible for those not directly involved to make an appearance as random side characters or helpers. Characters can either just happen to be there or those cast as the role can make a "call out" through the journals. Any items and locations found through the main scenes are also free to be used by others for fun. There are also Bonus scenes that are basically extra prompts for people to have fun with if they'd like.

§ main scenes.

¶ Scene 1: Ebegeeser and Horseman of Christmas Past. The Horseman is supposed to show Ebegeeser how he was as a teacher and he was (supposedly) a decent guy. So the best way to showcase that is give Ebegeeser a classroom to teach. The two will need to recreate the Schoolhouse, take care of some pranks, and deal with animated straw children. The "children" can behave however players want them to. Angels or devils, throwing things at Ebegeeser. Even the Horseman can be a brat and play along if they want. The Horseman will also have their pony to deal with and yes—must ride it at some point. Note: If it's pre-planned to not find the Schoolhouse here, let us know so that it's noted in other scenes involving it.

• Find the gift with the Schoolhouse to kick things off. [It's a big green box with a piece of a chalk on top so it should be be pretty obvious]
  
  
• Disarm three pranks set up within the Schoolhouse. [Pranks can be whatever you guys want]
  
  
• Ebegeeser "teach" a class of "children" and the Horseman.

Cast: Ebegeezer - Kazuma Asougi; Horseman - 9S

¶ Scene 2: Ebegeeser's first meeting with Beltrina. Set in the Schoolhouse, Ebegeeser first meets the beautiful Beltrina...and starts thinking about her wealth. Beltrina herself is practicing the violin and is already in a relationship with Bromfred. But could Ebegeeser worm his way into her heart!? Time for Ebeneeser to get his flirt on...and the Horseman might sit on the side and watch. MUSICAL NUMBER ♫ Note: If the Schoolhouse is pre-planned to not be found in the other scene, then they will need to find the box. Otherwise, the scene is set in a random building.

Cast: Ebegeezer - Cyrus Albright; Beltrina - Pearl; Horseman - Therion

¶ Scene 3: Bromfred's arrogance and Ebegeeser's jealousy. After learning about Beltrina's relationship with Bromfred and Bromfred constantly messing with him, Ebegeeser is brimming with hatred and jealousy. Bromfred's feelings are far simpler—he just finds the guy dumb and an easy target (no one said Bromfred was nice). So they are at each other's throats and will showcase their dislike through the magic of rap. The characters will have to find microphones, make a stage, and then dish out insults at each other a la "Drop the Mic." Who will be the victor? Will Ebegeeser let slip his murderous thoughts!? MUSICAL NUMBER ♫

• Find the gift containing two microphones. [Small yellow triangular box up in a tree]

[He sighs exasperatedly. He would honestly rather practice in private, not here, in front of his straw students and this guy.]

...There was a fisherman named Fisher -- [He's reading it slowly, revealing the words one at a time as he spoke.] who fished for some fissure- [He grits his teeth. Dammit, why is this so difficult for him? But no, he's going to keep going despite his mistake.] -some fish in a fissure. Till a fish with a grin, pulled the fisherman in. Now they're fishing the fissure for Fisher.

[...Well, it mostly worked that time.]

[Oooh! Have some applause—by everyone in the class. Which is probably going to sound weird coming from straw people.]

Hey, you made it through!

[chippedsoul]

[Somehow, this doesn't make him happy, more embarrassed than happy. He clears his throat, turning away from Roku, but one could probably see his cheeks going slightly red.]

All right, settle down. We still have another half hour of class to get through. [. . .] For Mister Rangetsu's presentation, none of you will be sent home with homework for today. You can thank him for that.

[Eeeey he was an honor student! That's a first.]

So does this mean I can ditch class now? Or are you going to teach something actually interesting?

[...] Everyone except Mister Rangetsu will not have homework. [So much for being an honor student.]

Aw c'mon. You can't take it back like that!

[chippedsoul]

Should have been more careful with what you said then. [He's not even looking at Roku, turning through the textbook at the moment.] We'll finish our lesson today with page 23, on prepositions.

[Laaaaame.

He's now going to be the epitome of a model student by just silently tearing out a piece of paper from his journal, folding it into a paper...well not airplane because he has no idea what they are, but a bird thing, and then throwing it at the back of Asougi's head.]

[chippedsoul]

[At first, it didn't look like he notice but then THWACK. Down goes the paper bird, having been smacked with the teacher stick. To add insult to injury, he just goes on with the lesson like nothing had happened.]

[Aww that's no fun.

Now he's going to sneakily pull out some straw from the "student" in front of him and start making an "x" shape out of it before flicking it over. Like a ninja star.]

[chippedsoul]

[And that star is going to get deflected by the book.] Don't steal from the other students.

I'm not sure if "stealing" is the right word for this...

[It's more like he's mangling them if he's taking parts of their bodies—]

But nice reflexes!

[chippedsoul]

[He doesn't seem to be the only one in agreement. The straw kids were clapping their hands together in awe at their teacher's smooth moves. He clears his throat, tapping his desk.]

Can we please return our attention to our textbooks? [You could just hear the unanimous "awwws" as the straw kids shuffle in their seats. Come on, it's only for another half hour.]

Awww, c'mon, this is way more fun. Besides, can these kids even talk? No offense.

[The straw student next to him just shrugs.]

Recess! Recess! Recess!

[chippedsoul]

You can have recess in a half- [Brriiiiiinnng! Or they can have it right now. He sighs deeply, closing his book as the straw kids rush their way out of class. Thank god he only has to teach for one day.]

[HELL YEAH. He's just going to grin as he swings out of his chair and stands. Jeez was he cramped in that desk.]

I think that went pretty well. [Just. So much smirking.] Is that all you had to do?

[chippedsoul]

Up to a point. [Don't you have anything better to do? He closes the textbook, leaving it where he had found earlier it today.] Teach a classroom, that was the instructions. [...] And deal with three pranks. [Did anything that Rokurou do count?]

[rokubro]

[Would throwing crap at him count?]

Three pranks, huh? Does this place already come with it or do I need to stick around and continue "helping"? [Even he knows he's not really helping all that much.]

[chippedsoul]

You've "helped" enough. [Go out and have "recess" already.]

[rokubro]

Sure you don't want me to leave a few pranks? I could make them harmless.

[He totally wouldn't.]

[chippedsoul]

If your idea of harmless is like the time you dropped a rock into a gap, I'll pass.

Hey, it's not like either of us knew it would fall out of the sky.

[Small pause.]

But I was thinking of something similar, yeah.

[Classic eraser or book drop from the door.]

[chippedsoul]

[siiiighs.] Just one.

[rokubro]

[Awww yeah.]

You're going to have leave the classroom, though. Can't pull off a good prank if you see what I'm doing.
