Chapter 03: Act I

The Little Mermaid: Act I—

§ instructions.

The first Act of our third campaign is underway! This is the designated log for all Main Scenes. Others are free to create their own toplevels for the Sub Quests, which are detailed below. Each Main Scene has their own unique toplevel and those cast into the roles are to thread their scene under each. All scene instructions are provided in the toplevels. There are also toplevels for each Sub Quest this time around, but players are more than welcome to create their own individual toplevel if they have something else in mind they would like to do.

As a reminder, characters will find similar information and instructions within their journals so they won't go in blind. Also to note, all characters will have all their belongings within them as well as the additional supplies provided to them by the Storyteller. As you know, everyone has undergone a special "mermaid" transformation upon arriving into the Book, but do note: characters in Main Scenes will have a second wardrobe change while acting the scene. Their merform will stay the same, but they'll have additional bits to add to their role. Outfits will be provided in the prompts themselves, and these outfits will only be in affect during the scene. The moment they leave the setting area, they return to their other wardrobe.

Finally, just to be clear, characters who are in Main Scenes are not immediately dropped in to their location and will have to travel to the "setting location" and then return. Threading all of that isn't necessary, but it's to help give a better idea that characters can take a break between scenes or wait a bit to help with other things like the Sub Quests.

Feel free to refer to the Game Notes for more detailed info as well as ask questions or clarifications.

ricebird: (Uuuuugh I'm so glad we're done with the)

[And then very, VERY slowly Kotori pulls her way out too, sighing HARD when she realized she'd shimmied through without a scratch.]

Oh thank goodness... [SIGH.] Okay. If I were a pirate captain, where would I put a very big pearl?
tempredmental: (Why Is He Licking That?)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-10-29 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Keith glanced back when she sighed, curious.]

You okay?

[Then, began looking through the room to see if there were anywhere to hide a large pearl...]
ricebird: (Shinobu...)

[personal profile] ricebird 2019-11-06 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mm?

[Ah. That was a bit too loud, wasn't it?]

Ah, yeah... Sorry, I just... get nervous about being cut...

[It explains why the sword earlier made her freeze when she was able to dodge the other attacks alright, if in an amateur fashion.]
tempredmental: (Impressed)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-11-08 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[Nervous? That was one heck of a reaction for being nervous... unless she was just dramatic like Lance...]

Well, that's understandable, I guess.

[He could see the reason in this situation, at least, because blood in the water would draw out predators. And there was the whole dealing with the pain thing. Or the fact that they'd need to stop the bleeding, and not just because of predators...

Okay, so maybe it wasn't as overdramatic a reaction as he originally thought. He also got the impression she wasn't much of a fighter, so freezing up in the face of a large weapon, regardless of what it was, didn't seem all that strange.

He dug around a bit in the room, but most of the loose treasure was smaller than what they needed, or not pearls...]

I'm not having any luck.
ricebird: (Oh?)

[personal profile] ricebird 2019-11-12 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Less dramatic like Lance, more dramatic like Hunk... with just a quarter teaspoon of "dramatic" like Shiro.

Still, now she was good to help him out.]

Me nei-- Oh!

[On one of the shelves of the bookcase is a little chest about the size of a bread box... and picking up, it feels about the right weight. She swims back to show it to Keith.]

I think this might be it, Keith-san! It looks big enough, and it feels lighter than if it was filled with jewelry!
tempredmental: (Say What Pidge?)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-11-15 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Keith turned when she interrupted herself, hoping it wasn't another creature coming after them, but that was not a creature... it was a box. He faced Kotori fully as she came over, looking it over in her hands.]

Can you open it?
ricebird: (Should I go sweet or savory?)

[personal profile] ricebird 2019-11-17 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, if we can find a key. [A rogue, she is not.] If not, maybe we can break the box somehow?

[Still got that smashing rock, Keith?]
tempredmental: (Uh Well I Guess I'm Okay)

[personal profile] tempredmental 2019-11-26 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Keith glanced around the room. He wasn't exactly a rogue either. "Space Ninja", sure, after his Blade experiences, but not a rogue of the thief variety. He frowned a bit and then moved over to where the rock had landed on the floor when he'd smashed it through the window.]

Breaking it might be our best bet. It's the faster option, at least, then trying to dig around finding a small key. Who knows how many other keys we'd find along with it?

[There could be dozens of locks on this boat between various chests and anything else. It was more time limit friendly to break it. He grabbed the rock and swam back over to her.]
