Despite the combined weight, he lifted them up above the remaining creatures, out of their range as they snarled in frustration. He moved them along the path where there was more room to maneuver from the gnarled grasp of tree limbs and leaves. His wings moved them along in relative silence even as he turned his eyes to the trees as if waiting for their aerial superiority to be challenged.
"I'd believe it if they did," he remarked back as he covered more ground, keeping them as much to the shadow of the trees to avoid continued detection. The trees grew thicker, more ominous, and they seemed to lean more heavily towards the path, forcing him to drop little by little as they moved down the thinning trail. "We are that much closer to the castle though."
At some point, he was close enough to the ground that it wasn't worth carrying 76 anymore as it provided no benefit. "I'm putting you back on the ground and landing." That was the only warning - be appreciative, jerk - and then dropped a bit more until 76 could set his hooves to the ground and walk the rest of the way.
