Shadow Ren tries not to break character despite himself being amused at Akechi's laughter. He did work part time in a bar for one of his confidants. So it's not like it's that out of left field.

Okay that gets the shadow to give him a questioning look. It seems Akechi is taking liberties with the character, but fine. He can work with that.

"Are you trying to suggest something? You act as if you're suspecting me of something."

There's an opening for Akechi to use.
