Well this is an unexpected surprise. He actually has a role of a lawyer, a profession he 's already familiar with, and also a friend of his own essence apparently. Funny how that works out.
He hasn't lost his essence this time around though. So when he encounters Ren, he appears as his 8 feet tall self, with his inhuman features visible to all. Though he's dressed in something more suitable of a gentleman, just without the shoes. No one seems to be too bothered by it. A few actually wave at him, if a bit confused by his looks. Utterson must have a good relationship with the townspeople.
