[Open] Break catch-all with the Beast
Characters: Jean Kirstein [The Beast (Beauty and the Beast)] & you
Campaign: Break
Format: Either, will match.
Open
Summary: A catch-all with various things.
Wolf cubs
[Jean (+ a floofy wolf tail) usually prefers being alone. Well, not exactly, but he's pretty sure that's mostly part of his essence talking. Instead, he's being dragged out thanks to two grey wolf cubs. Not because they're like dogs and need to be taken out, but because they insist on dragging him out. They're surprisingly stubborn for their age.
Most of the time, Jean prefers to take his walks in the forest surrounding the castle he lives in, but sometimes he has to chase the cubs out of the forest... and since he's already out he might as well get some groceries.
Don't mind the small wolf cubs sniffing curiously at everything while a sulking half-chimera walks behind them.]
Jean used Teleport!
[One of the things he got after the Story ended was a plushie. A plushie that reminded him about the lousy comedy he had to perform dressed as the very character the plushie represented.
As he tries to see if there's something funny about it, the plushie teleports him outside of his castle and then after that straight into a nearby lake with a loud SPLASH.
At least it wasn't in the deep end, but he's now soaking wet anyway.]
Essence training...?
[After training with Kazuma Jean realized he had a new trigger to how he transforms into a Beast form. But he wasn't sure what it actually was, so he tried different tactics to test it out. Like attacking in different positions... or just willing himself to transform.
Frustrated, he smacked a training dummy he had with his claws and the dummy fell into two parts. He really disliked his essence when he couldn't make sense of it. But he continues to fight the training dummies he had anyway because might as well get that frustration out.]
Be our guest...
[When anyone who isn't Jean enters the castle, the furniture gathered there starts shuffling around and calling out to each other with rattle and other means. Once they're in place, they start dancing and ... singing.
Be our guest.
It's a very elaborate doorbell, that's for sure. And Jean does appear at the staircase whenever it happens, so that's a way to call him, too.]
I wish they'd stop doing that...
[Implying they're singing a lot even without the guest appearances.]

Beam me up, plushie

C'mon buddy, out you get. Now's not the best day for a swim.
[With that, he holds out a hand to pull Jean out of the water- That is, if Jean's willing to accept that gesture. Taking his hand and pulling him into the water is also an option. Or just ignoring it altogether.]
no subject
Tell that to this lousy teleport plushie.
no subject
... A teleport plushie?
no subject
[And the rest he knows... Jean tries wagging his tail to get it to dry at least.]
no subject
Geez... I've seen some weird inventions and magical stuff, but that really takes the cake. Who thought it was a good idea to mesh teleportation and plushies together into one thing?
no subject
Teleport
[A little ten-inch bunny fairy flies over to where Jean was in the waters. There wasn't much she could do like this, but at least she could at least try to make sure the big guy was okay!]
I saw what happened... something going wrong with your powers?
[She was still very new to this whole... essence business. But Judy had taken the time to research her own essence, Tinker Bell. It could have been worse, she supposed, and she was used to being small around giants, so her even smaller size wasn't exactly perturbed by it. It was the flying and pixie dust and all that that she was still learning to get used to.]
no subject
I'm okay... and no. It's because of this plushie I got for some reason.
[He shows her the now wet cheshire cat plush he's holding. At least it won't teleport him for a while.]
no subject
[She fluttered a little closer to it, head tilting at the Cheshire grin and looking back up at the man. Beast? Hrm. This was all so confusing!]
I guess I’ll have to take your word for it! This place is so bananas, you know? Anyway, we should get you out of the lake. Don’t want you catching a cold!
no subject
[Thanks for reminding him off the awful comedy show he and Keith had to perform, plushie.
He nods and does get up from the lake though, silently cursing how wet he was. He wagged his wolf-like tail to get the excess water out of it.]
This is the second time I've fallen into a lake after arriving here.
Training
Was that a claw? He didn’t know but it was exciting to see someone attacking that dummy like it was nothing!]
You seem to be really powerful! How did you do that?
no subject
My claws are pretty sharp. Even after trimming them, they're back to being sharp somehow.
[He holds his hand up. They're mostly just really long nails since he hasn't gotten an actual paw yet.]
I'm still working on how to use them.
no subject
[He said before looking at his hand. It didn't seem anything too out of the ordinary but it's still amazing enough in Ken's eyes.]
Is that part of your Essence? [Please help him, he doesn't even know where to start with his]
no subject
Yeah, I'm the Beast. Same for the horns and other animal parts... I'm normally just a human.
[He'd prefer to keep it that way, but alas.]
Figured out your essence yet?
no subject
[With that, he nodded his head]
Yes, mine is Phobos but I’m not sure what I can do yet. I know he has something to do with fear though.
Wolf Cubs
[He does not, however, expect a couple wolf pups to come out of the woodwork and start sniffing at him. He stops his training and starts trying to shoo the wolf pups away.]
Hey! Get out of here, you mangy barkbeasts! Get out! Shoo!
no subject
Hey, don't be mean to them. They're just curious about anything they don't know about... sorry if they disturbed whatever your doing.
no subject
Oh of course, how silly of me. I should let them jump and slobber all over me and let them try to chew on my fronds because they're just curious. I don't know about you, but not all of us have very good experience when it comes to devilbeasts like that.
no subject
[He can't really be mad at him, considering the cubs just went to him on their own.]
This is why you don't just approach every person you meet, okay?
[He tells the cubs, who tilt their heads but then both of them bark as if they understood.]
no subject
So what the fuck is their deal? Are they being trained up to be Lusus Naturae or something?
no subject
[He has no idea what that means.]
I don't know though. One morning they just arrived to my place and stayed. I've been trying to make sense of them, but it's hard when you don't talk wolf.
Training
...Reminded him a bit of Hyde...]
Sooo are you training or venting?
no subject
Oh. It's the guy who attacked him the day he arrived or something. At least he's normal now so he doesn't have any reason to.]
Both.
no subject
But you'd probably do better against a live opponent.
no subject
Are you offering?
no subject
[And approaching.]
You're that guy I attacked a while back, right?
no subject
[Well, he does have the same kind of ears and tail than the Beast form back then had. He can't remember if he shifted back in front of Rokurou.]
I hope you won't try to kill me if I accidentally transform into the other form again... I don't know what triggers it.
no subject
But he just waves his hand with a grin.]
Nah, I wasn't really going to kill you last time. But if I have take you down to either keep you from hurting others or yourself, I will. I'm going to assume I won't have to...unless control is something else you're having problems with.
no subject
I can control my Beast form. It's how I go into it I can't control, which annoys me. As well as all the additional changes to my normal form...
[He looks at his claws.]
It feels like a punishment.
no subject
Have you figured out what's made you transform so far?
no subject
[He shrugs, giving him kind of a half smile.]
I know I transform if I'm intentionally mean to someone. But when I was training with Kazuma, I changed as I attacked him and I have no idea why.
no subject
no subject
no subject
no subject
Yeah. It's not like any other methods to fight nowadays.
[He should really invest in a weapon.]
Ready?
no subject
I'll come at you first.
[And that's the only warning Jean gets before there's a grin as Rokurou lunges forward for the initial attack, his swords swinging.]
no subject
Luckily, it does work and he feels himself quickly shift into his Beast form. Larger in both height and muscles - and thicker claws so if Rokurou delivers the swords at him, he has something to defend himself with and hold them back.]
no subject
Seeing the claws, he grins.]
I didn't feel any bloodlust just now, but looks like you change for self-defense at least.
no subject
It's weird but... it feels like I can change back into my regular form at will. The original trigger had some conditions, but I guess this is that much different.
[Not that he will, for now, since the purpose was to practice.]
no subject
no subject
I'm pretty sure most people don't stay calm when someone runs towards them with swords.
no subject
Like for me, if someone charged at me I'd feel pretty excited about it. Some people might feel anger or uncertainty. And then there's fear.
[A small shrug.]
I only ask in case "fear" might be another trigger, but maybe it just works a broader sense of being agitated, which would fit what you've been saying so far.
no subject
I think it's the later, since... while I did feel fear, it wasn't the primary emotion.
no subject
Next the question is, do you always transform completely like that? Or could you transform just your arm, for example.
