May(technically)-June
[What happens when one doesn't go to town all that often to buy food? Well.
Probably doesn't hurt that 76 could hunt for himself, kept moving around the forest and could... honestly eat nearly anything in this state. Didn't stop him from taking the opportunity to wade out in to a slow moving river, a net strung up nearby with the bottom of it rested within a large metal bowl of water that already contained a couple decently sized fish. The set up worked for him.
Apparently he was fishing bare-handed, however. Jacket folded nearby and leaving him in just the ripped shirt and pants he'd rolled up above his knees. An ear flicking, watching shadows in the water below as he kept still—
That was a fish basically scooped up in one hand and hitting the net and water container set-up of his.]
How To Train Your—
[A dragon.
That was what was curled around his neck, snuggled against the fur that lined the hood and collar of his jacket, soundly sleeping as 76 walked his way through town. A rather large and far more modern looking weapon strapped to his back. Masked and everything he was walking slowly, that long and striped tail of his bristled and ears pinned low.
A mistake had been made, but apparently he was stuck with it.]
Know you're not sleeping.
[Well that was a happy trill, the dragon's tail just curling around the front of his throat.
Ugh.]
Quest 0503 Bring the Bacon
[76 had set himself up within a tree in one of the noted areas, rifle rested across his thighs, watching the area. new damn well being up high was best with how damn destructive these critters could be, even if that had been a life of growing up on a farm near Bloomington, Indiana. Still a plague to farmlands and anything as simple as a backyard garden.
An ear twitched at some movement, head turning—]
Watch where you're moving.
[wildcard can also go here, PM or reach me on Discord for plotting outside of given prompts.]
dragon
Give it time. Bring them back to the nest and they tend to go right to sleep.

[He grunted, which the little blue dragon was very happy about, what with how she nuzzled the fur of his jacket's collar. Those little trilling noises.
He'd had the egg that had been delivered to him -along with his heavy pulse rifle- in the jacket while he tried to figure out just how the hell and, well. Apparently had been warm enough to hatch.]
no subject
...well, the coat is the nest. You might have to buy a new one if the territorial streak is starting already.
no subject
At least the mask made it difficult to tell where he was looking-]
Leaving the jacket, just attaches to me without it.
[Imprinting happened.]
no subject
So you're a new father. Congratulations.
But you'll get a break eventually, they always tire themselves out.
no subject
Why him, all the same. Even while the little dragon started 'preening' his hair.]
Not soon enough.
[Hadn't gotten rid of it yet despite the gruffness of his words.]
Fishing
[He watches for a while downstream, before he swims a little closer, his tail splashing in the water.]
You're pretty good at that!
no subject
Of course it had him standing up a little straighter, rather than holding a position ready to catch another that might try swimming past.]
I've had some practice.
no subject
[He swims over to a rock that's just jutting out from the shore over the water, resting his elbow on it as he watches 76.]
You need some help catching them?
no subject
[There were at least four pretty decently sized fish in that combo bowl-and-net he'd rigged up so they could still swim around and not just die to get smelly in the sun. They'd meet their ends later when he had to go about cleaning them.
Still-]
Used to fishing line and nets?
no subject
More or less. At least, that's what I've seen people use. I've never fished myself.
[Most of his experience with fishing was what he could remember from his connection with Sora, and vague memories of watching adults fishing with nets in boats out in the oceans of Destiny Islands.]
You fish a lot back in your world?
no subject
Hands were in the water, and he kept unmoving, eyes on the water.]
Not often, usually stick within cities. Unless I'm traveling on foot, I know how to survive in the wilderness for months.
[If necessary, anyway.]
no subject
[Really, that just makes Roxas more interested in 76. He says he's used to the cities, but the way he carries himself reminds him less of the sleepy townsfolk he's used to seeing around the cities and more like the seasoned warriors who were used to combat.]
Were you a fighter back in your world?
no subject
I'm a soldier.
no subject
So, you had to go on missions and stuff too?
no subject
Yes. One fight or another.
no subject
[He watches 76 observing the pool, noticing him avoiding the small fish. He must be waiting for a big one.]
That sounds like the missions I had to go on before. Sometimes it was recon and observing a new world, but it was mostly taking down Heartless.
no subject
[Still, he didn't miss the fact that meant this kid also had gone on missions that resulted in some sort of fight. Also proved that some of the kids around here weren't new to fighting; didn't make him like it any more than he already did.
His head tipped just enough that he could keep Roxas in the corner of i vision.] What's a Heartless, other than what the name implies.
no subject
Heartless are creatures of darkness that prey on the light in people's hearts. They're kind of like the Erasers here, in a way, only instead of attacking stories, they target the hearts of people. Of worlds. I'm kind of surprised they haven't made it to this world, honestly; they're pretty persistent.
no subject
Might not be able to exist here.
[Hands were quick as they moved in to the water, hauling up a large fish that still wiggled and tried to get out of his clawed grip. This time he was walking out of the river rather than tossing it, and dropped it in to the bowl, twisting the net so it couldn't get out or knock any of the other fish out.
Had caught a good haul given the sizes.]
no subject
[Roxas honestly didn't know the specifics of what worlds Heartless could attack and couldn't. He assumed a world with a lot of light meant Heartless couldn't stand being there long, but that didn't explain why there were none in this world.]
I'm glad, though. Erasers are hard enough to handle. And I don't know if I'd be able to fight Heartless without my Keyblades.
no subject
Person makes the weapon, not the other way around- even if having the more familiar can make shit feel easier.
[The old man advise.]
no subject
I guess you have a point. [He pauses as he watches 76 haul that fish.]
Do you need a hand carrying that?
no subject
[Last thing he needed was to lose any of that work put through with patience because the net got snagged and he lost hold of it all.
If this kid wanted to help? Fine, easy way to help given.]
