Chapter 01: Act II - The Horseman of Christmas Present
A Hollow Christmas Carol: Act II—
Time passes through the Draft the Aspects work on restoring it. Little by little more color and semblance of true life returns to the story, everything looking and sounding a bit more crisp and clear. The old buildings of the village are also slowly restoring themselves, looking less like shabby shacks and more like true houses and barns. More animals, such as small woodland creatures and an increase in staple livestock begin to appear overnight. Sheep, cattle, horses, chickens, pigs. Their sounds are still a bit muffled, but they can be heard as they roam within their pens.
One night, the mist and fog from the forests roll over the entire town, casting a spell over everyone so that they fell asleep right where they were. Completely unaware, the environment shifts and shuffles, letters and ink swirling as new constructs are formed. As for what the Aspects do experience, they witness a dream—a glimpse of their story.
When the dream fades, the fog disappearing, everyone will wake to find themselves not where they last were, but inside a large manor. Everything is decorated for for the holiday party, with boughs of holly strung along the walls and banisters, wreathes hung outside each window and door, mistletoe mischievously placed under in discreet doorways, a giant Christmas tree with presents nestled beneath its boughs erected in the grand ballroom where everyone gathered, and tables full of food and drinks aplenty. "People" milled about—although like before these people are shadowy, inky Blots that just so happen to be harmless and in a festive mood.
All Aspects have been assigned to their new roles, and their journals softly blow with their assignments—all except for one of the Horseman and Ebegeesers. They will find themselves outside of town. But everyone else will be within the manor, dressed to fit the occasion and their role.
However, not everything is full of festive cheer. Outside the poor "families" of blots look on with envy, and the Aspects activities have attracted the attention of the Story Eater. Some of its minions, the Erasers, are slowly gathering to try and disrupt their efforts. Thus while the manor within is safe, outside is a little less so.
How will this next Act unfold?

This time around, we won't have a designated log for the main scenes. Instead everyone involved is to create their own post and clearly label it so we can find which one to track. The logs can be open or closed, and players who create the post can of course double it up for more open prompts as they wish. Finally, those who are part of Scenes 5 and 6 comment here! It's time to decide how things will pan out for Ebegeeser.
Everyone else is also encouraged to create their own logs so that others can tag in! Both comms are open for posting.
As a reminder, characters will have the necessary information within their journals. Those who are selected to play a scene will find their journal flashing red, so hard to miss. The information they have is roughly the same as what is written OOCly.
If you have any questions, post them to the Game Notes.
§ main scenes.
¶ Scene 1: Ebegeeser and the Horseman of Christmas Present. Starting just outside of town, the two will have to journey to the van Cratchit party using the Horseman's sleigh drawn by their horse. Yes, that is also what the Horseman is wearing (complete with ghostly smoke effect). Along the way, they will be impeded by poor families who get in their way, but giving them a piece of Ebegeeser's clothing will soothe them and let them pass after giving Ebegeeser and item in return. The families are actually Blot families and will be mildly hostile, but are not too dangerous even if they attack. At worst they will wield shovels and pitchforks. There is no particular order to what's given, nor is there a specific amount. If you want Ebegeeser to arrive completely stripped, that's up to you. As for the items received, they will be various school related items and foods. The first item will be popcorn for the Horseman.
Cast: Ebegeeser - Capell; Horseman - Aya
¶ Scene 2: Ghost Stories. In an effort to scare Ebegeeser, Bromfred will gather everyone around to tell various ghost stories. The highlight will be the legend of the Headless Horseman. But what is the Headless Horseman's story? Others are free to participate (including the Horseman of Christmas Present)
Cast: Bromfred - Rokurou; Ebegeeser, Beltrina, Horseman, - Open for any
¶ Scene 3: Ebegeeser's and Beltrina's Dance. At some point during the festival, Ebegeeser will ask Beltrina for a dance in another attempt to flirt and try to woo her to take his hand instead. Will he succeed? ...Can he even dance? MUSICAL NUMBER.
Cast: Ebegeeser - Shad; Beltrina - Alfyn
¶ Scene 4: Bromfred's and Beltrina's Dance. Of course Bromfred won't just let Ebegeeser must have a dance with his fianceé. Perhaps he was jealous of Beltrina's attention towards Ebegeeser? Asserting his dominance? Was jealousy part of Beltrina's ploy? Or is Beltrina actually having second thoughts...? MUSICAL NUMBER.
Cast: Bromfred - Finn; Beltrina - Kotori
¶ Scene 5: Ebegeeser's Plot. During the party, Ebegeeser will be contemplating whether or not he should enact on his plot against Bromfred. But what exactly is this plot? Is it murder? Will he poison Bromfred's food?? Or will it be something more benign, an attempt to embarrass him the same way Bromfred's constantly embarrasses him? Will the Horseman be able to sway him away and push him towards good!? (Not a musical number, but if someone wants to do a villain song, go for it.)
Cast: Ebegeeser - 9S; Horseman - Alfyn
¶ Scene 6: Ebegeeser's Proposal to Beltrina. At the end of the party, whether he tries his plot or not, Ebegeeser will still try to "propose" to Beltrina. He even has a ring at the ready. But will he be successful?
Cast: Ebegeeser - Shizuo; Beltrina - Asougi

Completely unaware, the environment shifts and shuffles, letters and ink swirling as new constructs are formed. As for what the Aspects do experience, they witness a dream—a glimpse of their story.
Astride his stalwart pony, the Horseman of Christmas Past appears before Ebegeeser. Together they journey to his past, to his early days of being a schoolteacher. It seems the man had a bit of a trying time, the children not always listening, interrupting, even pulling terrible pranks. But even so, there are also those who do listen and behave, moments where Ebegeeser could show himself to be kind and soothe a frightened child. Although the Horseman's pony sometimes got into mischief during their journey—it's very fond of chalk—the two got a solid glimpse of who he used to be.
They moved on then to a bit further into Ebegeeser's life. By now things have been hard on him, until the fair Beltrina van Cratchit entered his school to help offer music lessons and teach the violin. Enamored by her beauty, skill, and wealth, Ebegeeser proceeds to try and impress her...with varied results.
But with Beltrina already engaged to Bromfred, a man who is quite possessive of his would-be bride, he would have a long, uphill battle should he decide to try and break the marriage to win Beltrina for himself. Could he really manage? And how?
Despite the challenges, Ebegeeser is, if anything, a stubborn, determined man. The holiday party at the van Cratchit's fast approaches, and now the Horseman of Christmas Past leaves to make way for their cousin, the Horseman of Christmas Present. And this is where our story will continue...

§ sub quests.
Everyone is free to participate in the sub quests, including those of the main cast. We're listing them all here for ease of reference:
- Party Hearty. Basically just have fun and enjoy the party.
- Delivering Presents. When not hobnobbing at the party, there are a lot of presents under that tree...and a lot of poor blot families outside the manor. Those in a more gift giving mood can go out and deliver a few. Doing so will not only prevent a riot from starting, but also will further improve the world's environment.
- Protect the Christmas Tree. Who brought in the children? They will be trying to take the decorations and throw them around, or worse—try to climb the tree itself. Although letting a disastrous mess happen is allowed, if the tree falls the entire setting will start to flicker, as if a switch has been turned off. Righting the tree will fix it.
- Dance and Sing Christmas Carols. What better way to help keep the party alive than to dance and bring music? The dance floor is always open, there's a piano, a fiddle, and a flute, and plenty of sheet music. Let's make this a real party!
- Protect the Manor. For those who may not be so festive, there are a few threats lurking outside of the manor that's ready to crash it. Poor and angry blots, minor Erasers, and even a creepy looking Santa Claus are skulking around. They're not too difficult to fight off, but the Santa might prove more annoying with reindeer and small elves helping.
