Ren shifts slightly to wrap one of Makoto's arms around his shoulder, and holding that arm, while placing his other hand on Makoto's side as support.

It does take it a bit, but sure enough, they arrive back at Ren's apartment. He has to let go of Makoto's arm temporarily so he can open the door to get them inside.
