0901 | Protect the Harvest Caravans: Perhaps it’s thanks to the remnants from Story Eater's plant minions that devastated the Index back in the winter that the crops are bountiful this year. The farmers are going to need some extra hands gathering and delivering these large shipments to merchants around the Index and out to the other Stories. However, there have been reports of caravans being attacked by rogues and even Erasers, so help to protect them is also requested. | 1 |
0902 | How to Train your Scarecrow: A scarecrow ain’t worth anything if it can't scare off pests. Teach them how to scare properly by showing whatever methods that can be used. | 1 |
0903 | Taste Testers: Since the harvest is good this year, there’s enough for restaurants to set up samples for the upcoming anniversary and have various food challenges, be it finishing a giant dumpling or eating as many chicken wings as you can. There are also plenty of new and "interesting" recipes and challenges, such as who has the spiciest dish. | 1 |
0904 | Wonderland-itis: It seems Wonderland hasn’t quite left the poor citizens be. People are gaining rabbit ears or cat tails or pig snouts. Some are turning invisible and unable to be re-visible. Others feel the need to spew philosophical life lessons or hold tea parties every 15 minutes. The doctors have come to name the phenomena Wonderland-itis and thankfully there is a cure. A certain potion mix can be made that will remove the effects upon drinking it and any specialized apothecary can make it. They need the following ingredients: red mushroom spots, glitterfly wings (a type of butterfly that sprinkles glitter as it flies), dodo eggs, and laughing rose petals. These items can be found in Wonderland, Midsummer Rose, and the Index. Help collect the items and receive a free potion in return. | 2 |
0905 | Pumpkin Chunkin' Preppin': Villagers from the Hollow Christmas Carol have designed a new activity to try this year: Pumpkin Chunkin'. Catapults are erected and teams try to see who can shoot their pumpkin the farthest. The date of the challenge is a month away, but supplies are in heavy demand. There are no restrictions on materials to build the catapults so requests for lumber, steel, and even strange items such as cheese are in high demand. But the hardest to acquire are the pumpkins. Rather than ordinary pumpkins, the villagers have made things more exciting by requiring flaming pumpkin skulls found only in patches growing near high temperature climates. This ranges from deserts to volcanos and lava pits. The bigger and fiery it is, the better. | 1 (2 for pumpkins) |
0906 | Ghost Upkeep: It’s getting spooky around the Index and the ghosts are starting to come to play. Or, at least they would like to, but it seems their sheets are worn and dirty since last year! Help them get new sheets! The usual "plain white" sheet is okay, but some prefer a little decoration to help "liven" up things for the upcoming holiday season. | 1 |
0907 | The Royal Hunt: The more affluent of the fae folk are throwing a new "competition" mocking traditional royal hunts hosted by humans. There are two teams, one as the hunters and the other acting as the animals. The "hunted" group are dressed up in silly animal costumes and must elude the equally ridiculously, flamboyantly dressed hunters who are armed with colored cushion arrows. | 1 |
0908 | Electric Skeletons: A gang of skeletons have harnessed the power of lightning by wearing lightning rod hats and are now causing havoc around the city, deliberately shocking innocent bystanders and creating lightning storms in some areas. Knock off their hats and arrest the individuals. | 2 |
0909 |
Monster Bounties: These creatures have become a menace to the local populace and need to be taken care of!Click to see list.Chimera: Chimera of unknown origins have been spotted out in the woodlands attacking local wildlife and some appearing around farms and ranches. They vary in size and species. Further investigation will be required, so although they need to be eliminated, capture and/or returning fragments of the creatures is requested.Sodarayg: Large, blue, sea serpent-like creatures have been spotted in both the Index's Endless Ocean in the east and the oceans of The Little Mermaid. They are creating powerful lightning storms that have reached the mainlands and are wreaking havoc on ships with the turbulent waves. As the ones in the Mermaid are smaller, it is believed some Sodarayg eggs had been smuggled out there. For now, cull the serpents in both areas. (Mod Note: An alternative method is to return the younger serpents from the Mermaid Book to the ones in the Index as it's easily surmised that the adult Sodarayg's are not happy.) Two-headed Troll: A giant two-headed troll has appeared by the Sunset Bridge, a bridge that is often traveled by merchants and farmers to reach the Index from the southern villages. Although trolls are a common menace, this one in particular is more violent and aggressive than most with casualties rising. (Mod Note: Turns out the troll is actually an Eraser that's snuck so take it out fast! There is only one troll so anyone taking this quest is encouraged to make it open for groups.) (note: point rewards are for the quest as a whole, not for each part. Doing a different section will be considered as if repeating the quest.) |

Kazuma Asougi | Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
[Hearing the farmers were looking for some extra help guarding and gathering the crops, Asougi is quick to offer assistance. After the mess Hyde had caused for the Index, it's only fair he start working to pay for the damage. Although he was not fully adjusted to the strength that came with Hyde's form.]
My apologies. [He had just uprooted a stubborn pumpkin, maybe a little too well. The bottom half did not go along with the top.] I'll...help put the crates into the wagons. [There's goes another damage produce to the pile of other produce that he destroyed. At least his intimidating size is keeping some of the bandits at bay, for now.]
B. [0903 - Food challenges? No Problem.]
[Going out hunting and protecting caravans can build up an appetite, especially when you're Asougi utilizing Hyde's body. A big issue he runs into just trying to maintain this form that he needs to find a solution for. For now, he's taking advantage of the bountiful amount of food.]
Another. [He sets down his 50th bowl of soba, careful not to also break it. Today he visits a restaurant that was having a noodle eating challenge. To eat as many bowls of soba noodles as one could handle. The great thing with these challenges is that some of them offer their meals for free, if the challenger reaches a quota. He hasn't had a problem reaching them, and then some. The waiter is frantically trying to just keep up with Asougi's monstrous appetite, reaching a point they had to set down more than one bowl of noodles for him to devour, sometimes not even bothering to add other ingredients.]
S-Surely, your stomach must be close to bursting after eating so much? [That's a lot of carbs.]
No. [He slides another finished bowl to him as he moves to the next. Cheer for him? Join him? ....maybe tell him to stop?]
C. [0909 - Chimera | CW: Blood]
[What better way to practice utilizing Hyde's power than to beat up some hunts. He can see why Hyde loves it when he can go all out without worrying about limitations. He could lift some of the smaller chimeras and flip them easily. Susato would be amazed, or terrified. The surface wounds he sustain would heal on their own, which was nice to keep the fight going. Though unlike Hyde, he was making sure not to go out of his way to get injured.
He wanted to last, keep the fun going.]
Don't mind if I take this... [He grabs the horns of the down chimera, ripping it off it's head. It roars in pain, blood spilling from where it's horns once were. Asougi tossing the bloodied horns aside. They'll bring him a decent amount of money later on. He flicks his hands to try and get some of the blood off as another chimera appears to fight for it's fallen comrade. This one was much larger, meaner. This may prove to be a real challenge, and all Asougi is thinking about are the profits the parts from this chimera would bring.]

Wembley Fraggle | Winnie the Pooh
[Wembley is quite possibly the least scary being you can find in the Index, but he's no stranger to frightful pranks, either. He's not great at pulling them off, but maybe this scarecrow will have better luck! So there is currently a little ball of fluff kind of... Hanging off the shoulders of one of the scarecrows as he talks to it.]
I've heard the first step is to say... Boo! See, that was pretty scary, right? Maybe a little? You try it! Say boo!
[This scarecrow is sentient enough to turn it's head - a full 180 degrees - and stare at Wembley. Is it just unimpressed? Or can it even speak?]
C'mon, you've got it! Boo! Boo! Go on!
[Someone please help.]
Sweet Little Treat (0903)
[The challenge that has caught Wembley's attention is to finish a cauldron full of a hearty vegetable stew, but he knows he's not going to be able to eat that all himself! So, he tugs at the fingertips of the nearest aspect checking out the event, trying to get their attention. Once he does:]
Let's go for it! There's nothing that says we gotta do it by ourselves!
Scare Them, Boo! (0906)
[Wembley's having a blast getting sheets for the cute little ghosts! At least, he was, until one ghost expressed the desire for something other than a basic white sheet. This particular ghost wants to look flashier, and Wembley - who has only ever owned the same style of shirt his whole life - is at a loss.
As such, anyone can be approached by the Fraggle with a swatch of fabric in each hand. One is rather regal looking, but the other is more boldly colored.]
Which of these looks flashy to you?
[0902]
How goes the scaring...? [His voice was deep, with a growling trait to it. He looks over Wembley, confusing him for another fraggle for a moment. But this one was definitely a different one from the other.]
no subject
Not so good, but, um, but maybe you can help...?
[Hesitantly asked, but it sure seems like Kazuma would be able to impart some wisdom about being scary.]
no subject
Let's start by not shaking first.
no subject
R-Right, right, I can do that. [He closes his eyes and takes a couple of deep breaths, eventually calming down. At that point, he releases the scarecrow's shoulders and slides down its burlap body, landing by Kazuma's feet.] ...Hi.
no subject
Hello...what's your name?
no subject
no subject
What have you tried with the scarecrow so far?
no subject
no subject
We should focus on what features he has and go from there. Maybe teach it to present itself differently, like how animals puff themselves up to intimidate others.
no subject
Gee, that's a good idea. And he can move, at least. Maybe if he looks bigger and moves fast, he'll look scarier!
no subject
It's already creepy that he can move. [...] No offense. [The scarecrow just wobble his head side to side.] Hm, he could probably use a little more straw. [Whoever set this scarecrow up, left them on the thin side.]
Luca Balsa | Count of Monte Cristo
Why did I agree to this?!
[ Luca really should have read the fine print on this task. Now he's in a duck costume, being chased about by a bunch of weirdos with bows and arrows. Fun... Totally fun...
He manages to find a spot behind some bushes to catch his breath... This is exhausting and humiliating. How much longer is this match going to-
Someone shouts "Duck," Luca instinctively looks up. ]
What- [ Luca gets knocked down by a cushion arrow to the face.
... At least this hunt is mostly harmless. ]
[0904] Alchemy is technically a science.
[ Luca's no chemist, and he's certainly not some sort of witch, but there was a decent reward for completing this task and an innate scientific curiosity to sate. Besides, he may as well explore some of these past stories while he can.
So here he is, in Midsummer Rose, carrying a grocery list of items to collect. He's a bit in awe by these magical forests, but he does have some questions for whoever decided to tag along. ]
Hm... It says here we're looking for "red mushroom spots..." Assuming that's not a mushroom itself, we'd have to figure out how to remove the spots from the mushrooms... Won't we?
[0908] Rerouting the current.
[ Luca's peering at the skeletons from around the corner of a building. Living skeletons, dancing around with rods on their heads. He knows full well what lightning rods are only meant to redirect an electric strike to the ground and prevent damage, but these skeletons are doing so much more than that.
He can't help but stare in awe. Is there something magical about these rods themselves, or can living skeletons just utilize electricity with the help of the rods? Either way, this particular quest had one prize with a bit more than extra coins...
The rods themselves. Luca had to keep those in the best condition possible. They could be used for so much more than mischief... If he could only get close enough to snatch one off the top of a skeleton's skull... ]

What if we hollow out his head a little, so we could put a lantern in to light up his face? And then use the corn and stalks around here to make look taller? [The farmers probably won't mind a few missing corn stalks, right?]
Princess Rosella | Artemis
All right, now! Let's practice, shall we? Now, put your hands up like this —
[She lifts her arms, miming a pair of grasping claws as she stands near a rather homely-looking scarecrow that seems to be suffering from an intense case of stage fright.]
— and give it a good "Grrr!" Go on, let's see how you do!
[0903: TASTE TESTERS]
The catch? The teammates have to feed each other the slices of pie — it's a new twist on the "no hands" variant!
Congratulations, whether by volunteering or coercion, you've found yourself in the chair across from Rosella, whose expression can't seem to make up its mind between bashful and competitive. On one hand, it's hard not to be a little flustered under the circumstances. On the other? She wants to win.
But maybe it'd be a good idea to start by introducing yourselves, in the thirty seconds remaining before the starting bell rings.]
...Well! This should be fun, don't you think?
[0906: GHOST UPKEEP]
Well, you know, I think that with even just a bit of a wash, your sheets would freshen right up...
[The ghost she's talking to keens long and low in a wailing moan that's probably intended to be a negative.]
...Oh. Er. All right, new ones, then?
no subject
[Wait wait wait.]
We can't hollow out his head!
no subject
Isn't it just straw inside? [...How is this thing thinking and such without a brain?]
no subject
no subject
As you can see, he's still alive. [He is indeed still moving, a bit deflated in the head and wobbly. Maybe he could have just asked if it was ok, but Kazuma apparently wanted to prove a point his own way.]
no subject
Well... I-I guess you're right, then. Still seems kind of mean to me, but, if it'll help the scarecrow with his job...
no subject
no subject
[But what would he suggest...? Wembley's not entirely sure, until he starts thinking a bit differently.]
Maybe- Maybe we need to think less about making him scarier, and more about things that can help him be scary. Uh, I mean, you know... Traps and stuff.

[The challenge is asking the locals without scaring them off. It's hard not to seem imposing, no matter how nicely he ask. Some haven't exactly forgotten the trouble Hyde had caused as well.] ...Maybe, you can handle the talking.
no subject
Sure, I can. I think, anyway... Rope and wood. What kinds?
[Because he knows if they haven't made a clear plan for any possible options thrown his way when he's 'handling the talking', there could be some trouble.]
no subject
no subject
[He's still not sure about this but even though they're working together, he's too intimidated to put up a fuss.]
And I guess if we can't find anyone to give us those things, maybe we can buy them in the market.
no subject
Hrm. You may have to ask on your own. I can gather the supplies they approve can be taken.

I didn't have control over a part of my essence. It brings out a person's inner demon, their dark selves and gives it a physical form.
no subject
[And for a moment, that's all Wembley says. It's a lot for him to think about, coming from a society of beings that are inherently good, to the point that evil tends to abhor fraggles. Sure, indivuals do bad things at times, but at their core, all fraggles are rather innocent creatures.]
That must have been scary for... Well, for everyone. But you have control over it now, right?
no subject
Of course, there's still things I need to work on.
