[He sincerely appreciates her parting words and flashes her a confident smile until she turns and is out of sight, then he nervously takes a deep breath as he stares at the incoming Erasers.]

Looks like I missed my chance again...

[To run away- a playful jab at himself for the person he used to be. It's not something he would ever consider now unless it's the only option left, and he wouldn't be leaving anyone behind. He could tell she didn't want to go, so he feels bad asking that of her. He will have to apologize to her later.

For now, he steels himself, determined not to give her any extra work to do by getting hurt. And that resiliency he feels extends itself all throughout his body- another peculiar sensation.

So... what is it that he's on the verge of remembering? Is that why he grabbed his flute? It's nothing belonging to Tamino because he found all those musical notations in his book. None of them would be useful in this situation. Does it have something to do with that strange glow? Thinking like this, it's not really helping, so he slowly brings the flute to his lips and closes his eyes. The sense of urgency hasn't left him, but if he could just start playing something, then perhaps the rest will follow. Holding the flute like he is, the sensation that he's close to something grows more intense.

And so he gently plays a few notes while taking slow steps backwards to try and maintain as much distance as possible, though there's not a lot of room left. One particular note he hits, however, causes him to stop abruptly; there's something familiar about it even though he doesn't actually know any songs that start that way. He starts up again, hitting that note... and then the next note hits, and another, and another, finally stringing together a coherent piece. And it's like a burst of energy and a profound sense of relief that overpowers him-- this is it! This is the song he felt.

He cracks open his eyes to see what effect it might have had on the Erasers and sees that they have stopped in their place... several feet from him. He really cut that close, but they aren't moving at all. They are still alive, very much so, just sort of paralyzed. But he has no idea for how long, or if it's only in effect as long as the piece is being played. So he keeps playing it, hoping that Ophilia returns with something soon.]
